Heartcode BLS Online Course and Hands-On Skills Session

Meet your instructor in room 305, Education Center 3rd floor for this skills session. Bring your printed completion certificate with you or email it prior to the session to training.center@eehealth.org.

This course is for healthcare professionals who need initial or recertification in the skills of performing BLS/CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

The American Heart Association’s Heartcode BLS Online course provides a flexible alternative to classroom training. Through case-based scenarios, interactive activities and videos, this course teaches the concepts of both single-rescuer and team basic life support.

Heartcode BLS must be paired with a hands-on skills practice and testing session with an AHA BLS Instructor.  Students who successfully complete Heartcode BLS will receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills practice and testing session.  An AHA BLS Provider course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of both parts.

Average completion time is 1-2 hours for the online portion with a 60 minute hands-on skills session required.

We suggest you schedule the hands-on skills session within 30 days of completion of Heartcode BLS.

Cancellation Policy

Advance notice of three (3) full working days must be given in order to receive a refund or to transfer once to another class. Refunds are subject to a $5.00 processing fee.

A $25 rescheduling fee may be applied if 3 day notice is not provided.

  • After class you will receive an email from eCards@heart.org  with information and a link to claim your ecard (check junk mail)
  • Click on the link, confirm your name and email, set-up a security question for future use and click to Agree to the Terms of use
  • Complete survey
  • Claim your card
  • If you miss, lose or delete the initial email, you can also claim your card directly at www.heart.org/mycards. You must log in using name and email exactly as you used them for class registration.
  • You may access your ecards anytime for future use at www.heart.org/mycards
