PALS Certification

Notes: Please note this is a 1-day full certification course, plan to come prepared for written and skills testing at the end of the day.

The American Heart Association PALS course is designed for experienced Pediatric Healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses and paramedics who either direct or participate in the management of seriously ill or injured pediatric patients and pediatric emergencies. Skills taught include recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatric assessment; effective respiratory management; defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration; and effective resuscitation team dynamics. Students must demonstrate skills competency in all stations and complete the written exam with a minimum score of 84% in order to receive a PALS course completion card valid for two years.

*For successful completion of this course, it is essential that you come to class knowing your algorithms, rhythm interpretation and the medications utilized in their treatment.  If you need study help in these areas, please consider enrolling in our PALS prep course.*


 

 

 

 

Cancellation Policy

Advance notice of three (3) full working days must be given in order to receive a refund or to transfer once to another class. Refunds are subject to a $5.00 processing fee.

A $25 rescheduling fee may be applied if 3 day notice is not provided.

How to claim your eCard following your class:

  • After class you will receive an email from eCards@heart.org  with information and a link to claim your ecard (check junk mail)
  • Click on the link, confirm your name and email, set-up a security question for future use and click to Agree to the Terms of use
  • Complete survey
  • Claim your card
  • If you miss, lose or delete the initial email, you can also claim your card directly at www.heart.org/mycards. You must log in using name and email exactly as you used them for class registration.
  • You may access your ecards anytime for future use at www.heart.org/mycards
